Roy Langford was a professor at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas for over 40 years. He earned his Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford University in 1932, with a minor in fine arts. He was a serious painter and studied art and artists all of his life. He created a course in the psychology of art which he taught for many years. He worked with others in the art community to help establish an art museum at K-State. His work was well known locally and was exhibited in over 40 one-man shows throughout Kansas. His paintings sold quickly, resulting in over 400 hanging in private homes and public offices in nearly all of the 50 states and in several countries abroad. His painting stopped in 1975, due to illness.
